Burnside Park is notable for its prime location. Nestling in the woods just three hundred meters from the shoreline of Windermere Lake on Bowness Bay, and just a short stroll of three hundred meters from the centre of Bowness village itself.

The resort consists of 41 luxury self catering cottages and apartments - there are one bedroom (sleeps four) units and two bed (sleeps six) units, all of which can offer a very high standard of self catering. The units are fully equipped with televisions, DVD and VHS players and sound systems and come complete with towels and bedding for full occupancy.

Many of our units are suitable for guests with particular access requirements and two of our "premier apartments" have been specifically upgraded. A perfect and relaxing break awaits you at the Dale Lodge Hotel. As you approach the beautiful refurbished georgian building, you can appreciate a sample of our three acres of mature gardens with secluded seating areas for you to relax and unwind.

We have 12 hotel rooms; Some of these rooms are standard doubles and some are luxury doubles and one of these is a twin room. Most of our rooms have views over the fells or gardens and plasma screen TVs. One of our rooms (room 4) is a purpose built disabled facility room with en-suite wet room, suitable for wheel chair users. For easy access it is situated on the ground floor within easy reach of the hotel lounge and restaurant. It is quietly situated at the rear of the hotel overlooking the garden.

The Howes is modern and very well appointed with private parking and a lovely terraced garden with fine views. Close by is the well-known Stock Ghyll park, a delightful wooded ravine topped by a beautiful waterfall - just right for an early morning stroll. The Howes is situated just a short, convenient stroll from the centre of Ambleside, a bustling, lively little town. It is however, off the beaten track away from any traffic noise - in a peaceful cul-de-sac.

We have three guest bedrooms - two double bedded rooms and one twin. All have en-suite shower and toilet and all are situated on the ground floor, making for easy disabled access.
