The hotel takes its name from the neighbouring ruins of one of the greatest Cistercian foundations in the country, Furness Abbey. The accommodation consists of luxurious suites and bedrooms, all individually decorated with en-suite facilities, some with four-poster beds. Ardrig Vegetarian is a quiet, friendly bed and breakfast in Kendal run by vegetarians. It is a non-smoking home. Ardrig Vegetarian is committed to be being vegetarian, providing mostly organic and Fairtrade food to their guests.

We have one double and one twin room with en suites and a single room with private bathroom. Each room has a hospitality tray, television, radio and something to read. The beds are comforable with good quality mattresses. All rooms have radiators with thermostats.

Wherever possible we buy organic, Fairtrade and non-GM products from a range of suppliers including Suma, Whole Earth, Jordans, Doves Farm and other local, fresh produce. Vegan options are normally available and we can cater for other dietary needs, if you let us know when you book.

Our breakfasts include traditional cooked speciality of the house with light and vegetarian options too! Children over the age of five years are welcome.

In our period Dining Room you may help yourself to a selection of cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts and juices to start your breakfast and then enjoy a full English Breakfast, freshly cooked on the Aga.
