A totally non-smoking guest house, built in the 1880's and located in the centre of Windermere Village. Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse

Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse offers pet and disabled friendly accommodation in the Lake District. Guests will have a large identified parking space at entrance to property and ramped entrance door, ideal for wheelchairs. The guesthouse has two ground floor double rooms.

Beckside Cottage

Beckside Cottage is a small and friendly b&b that accepts well behaved dogs by prior arrangement. They are close to the centre of Windermere, have car parking, are close to the park and serve delicious hearty breakfasts. The train station and bus links are a ten to fifteen minute walk away. A very good location for exploring the South Lakes. 2 doubles, 1 family and 1 single room, all en-suite. Prices £25 to £30 pppn, special offers.

Virginia Cottage

Virginia Cottage provides pet friendly guest accommodation and extends a particular welcome to dogs, which are welcome to stay in the guest room and have access to all areas - except the breakfast room. If dogs are left unattended during the evening, the owners are happy to look in on them to make sure they are not unsettled.

Clinthead Cottage

Clinthead Cottage is a former farmhouse occupying a courtyard setting with south-facing lawned garden backing onto open fields with views to the nearby Castle Carrock Fells. The cottage sits midway between Great Corby and Cumwhitton, two picturesque, traditional villages in the northern Eden Valley within 7 miles of Carlisle and easy travelling distance of Hadrian’s Wall and the northern Lake District. There is a generous lawned garden with shrubbery and fell views.

Private parking is available for 4 cars. They accept up to 3 dogs of any breed.

Elder Grove

Elder Grove is a family run bed and breakfast offering quality en-suite accommodation, delicious freshly prepared breakfast using local produce, lounge, bar with free Wi-Fi Internet access and car park. They accept pets in one of their double rooms and one of the single rooms. Elder Grove charges £10 per stay and ask that the pet is not left unattended in the bedroom and is not brought into the public rooms.

Barrie Guest House

Provides accommodation for well behaved dogs and their owners. They have 11 bedrooms and allow dogs in all rooms, provided they do not climb on the furniture and are not left alone. At the discretion of the other guests pets are allowed into the lounge area but not into the dining room.

Autum Leaves Guest House

The Autum Leaves Guest House accepts most breeds of dogs with all bedrooms being dog friendly, and more than one dog accepted per room. Dogs are welcome guests at Autum Leaves so long as owners respect the soft furnishings and bedding (so no dogs must be allowed on the beds or chairs). Dogs must also be kept supervised and not be left alone in the bedroom unless crated.

Dogs are also not allowed in the dining room and must be kept on leads when walking through the guest house, as often they are very excited about being away. There is a charge of £10 per visit.

At Plumtree House, guests are more than welcome to have their pets in the room with them. Plumtree usually accepts one dog per room, although two may be allowed if prior notification is given.

The Fairfield welcomes dogs in 4 of their rooms, 3 of which are on the ground floor. There is a charge of £15 per room, per stay. The Fairfield recommends one large or two small dogs as a guide of what is accepted.
