Foxghyll Guesthouse - The house was built in the 1600's, originally in the style of a typical old Lakeland farmhouse and remained virtually unchanged for over 200 years, having had the famous writer and poet Thomas De Quincey as a tenant for a short time. The Foxghyll boasts formal gardens of approximately two acres, with a stream running through, were laid, giving the house a peaceful secluded setting, yet only five minutes by car to Ambleside, or a leisurely fifteen minutes walk along the quiet picturesque Rothay Valley to all the amenities of the Lake District.

MELROSE is an elegant Victorian house in the town centre, close to all Ambleside's many tourist amenities, including cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs. The house is been completely redecorated and refurbished to an excellent standard.

Melrose has spacious bedrooms - doubles, twins, triples and family rooms are available. There is also one single room and one ground floor room. All rooms have en-suite facilities or a private bathroom, also television, hair dryers, alarm clocks and complimentary tea/coffee trays and toiletries. On the lower ground floor, there is a small suite of rooms comprising a single room, a double with extra single bed and a shower room/toilet, ideal for a family of four.

Old Lake Road - A family style Victorian Lakeland house on the outskirts of Ambleside village situated just off the main Lake Road. A themed interior with a homely atmosphere. All rooms are tastefully decorated, all ensuite with added little extras.

Breakfast consistes of local produce as well as honey from our own bees. Varied diets can be catered for. We welcome walkers and bikers and guests who just like to take it easy. We have a selection of walk leaflets and books plus a good local knowledge of where to eat. We aim to make our guests feel relaxed and at home and send them away refreshed and wanting to return.

The Wynford guest house is a pleasant ten minute walk from Ambleside town centre with plenty of walks from the door. Nook Lane is the original pack-horse route of Grasmere. Magnificent scenery surrounds the house - there are even views of the Lake! We have ample safe private parking for our three tastefully decorated double en-suite rooms with bath and shower. Our rooms also have lots of little extras to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. Good local produce is used to provide you with a hearty and delicious English and vegetarian breakfast.

Thorneyfield Guesthouse – A charming Victorian period property set in the heart of Ambleside and the beautiful English Lake District and close to all of its many facilities. The house is ideally placed for fell walking, climbing, water sports, touring and other less arduous activities such as spending time in the many local shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as the two local cinemas! There is also a beautiful park which is just a short stroll away.
