Brendan Chase is on College Road, a quiet street without parking restrictions just around the corner from the centre of Windermere, with public houses and a variety of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets close at hand.

We have standard double, twin and en-suite rooms, with larger family rooms which are either standard or en-suite. Although almost all of our smaller rooms have double beds we may at quieter times let these rooms to the single traveller. Our most spacious bedrooms, which are very popular with families or small parties of travellers, have a double and three single beds with plenty of room to spare.

All our rooms are spacious and comfortable with central heating, hair drier, colour television, and a hospitality tray. There is furniture from the Victorian era with original paintings in oil and watercolour and a selection of prints from the period. We have limited private parking at the rear of the house although there is unlimited parking on College Road with overnight parking on the nearby main streets of Windermere. For cyclists and motor cyclists we have an enclosed yard with security lights at the rear of the house which is locked at night. Please note that we do not allow smoking in any part of the house.

The Coach House is an unusually stylish and relaxed guest house in the heart of the English Lake District. Our aim is to provide four star quality on a small scale, for visitors who want comfortable, contemporary interiors and quality breakfasts, but without the formality and expense of a top hotel. We have a ‘4 star’ rating from the AA. We are a non-smoking establishment. During the spring of 1999 a small, comfortable guest sitting area and a light, airy breakfast room/conservatory was added downstairs, in which you can relax throughout the day and evening.

The house is, as the name suggests, an old coach house built in 1890 from Lakeland stone. You will see from its unusual shape that the whole of the ground floor was designed to house a coach and horses. The back half was a stable, and upstairs was for storage. The house also has several unusual decorative features, including a weather vane, a round window and a clock housed in the roof.

We have five letting rooms all en suite which are beautifully decorated, with brightly coloured walls, bedspreads and blinds, some with antique furniture. Most have cream cast-iron beds. The en-suite shower-rooms echo this mix of the modern and traditional, with high quality showers, black and white floor tiles, chrome fittings and period enamelware. All the rooms have TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, alarm clocks, hair dryers and radios. The rooms have cotton wool buds/balls and toiletries.

Holly Lodge Bed and Breakfast, built in 1854, is one of the oldest Guest House Accommodation providers in Windermere, Lake District. There are 9 en-suite rooms: 4 family/twin, 1 single, and four doubles. Cots and high chairs are available and we have some private parking but please check on arrival. Kirkwood Guest House in the Lake District is ideally positioned for exploring The Lakes. The Mews is 100 meters from the first shops of the village and 200 meters from the bus and railway station (where bikes can be hired).
